How To Make $500K An Hour In GTA Online

There are multiple methods to make money in GTA Online. But in order to to optimize your earning method, you need to plan ahead what missions you are going to carry out and also how you will carry them out. We all are aware of the VIP missions in GTA Online which has been a go-to method for many to earn easy money.

These VIP missions are relatively easy to complete, quick and fun, however doing these missions alone won't make you millions. You should carry out these VIP missions in combination with other money making methods such as Client Jobs and exporting your top range cars from your CEO vehicle warehouse.

Below we have a full guide on how to optimize your earnings by doing a set list of missions. With our method you can earn over half a million $GTA in GTA Online in just an hour. There are some requirements for this strategy and we therefore recommend it for intermediate level players and not absolute beginners. If you're a complete beginner then check out our other money making methods here. Anyone should give it a shot though, so by all means feel free!

Intro

To make it easier, let's call each run a cycle. In each cycle you need to carry out certain Client Jobs and VIP missions. You will be alternating between them before moving onto to the next cycle. Each cycle begins with exporting one top range car from your vehicle warehouse. There will be a total of three cycles. The last cycle is not exactly a cycle, but just one last top range car we need to export.

The reason we export the car first is because of the long cool down time (20 minutes) we have after exporting one car. In that cool down time we carry out Client Jobs and VIP missions to maximize our profit. By the time the Client Jobs and VIP missions are done, we can export our second top range car.

GTA Online $500K / Hour Video Guide

Strategy Requirements

For this strategy to work you must have the following:

  • CEO Office
  • Vehicle Warehouse (with at least three top range cars)
  • Oppressor Mark II
  • Terrorbyte

Preparation

Before you start this strategy, you need to request your Terrorbyte and park it in the middle of the city. This will help you complete certain missions much quicker which will help us save a lot of time. You can park it anywhere around the area shown in the screenshot below. It also shows the preferred parking location of the Terrorbyte.

Another really important thing you can do (which you don't have to but it is recommended) is to get into a solo public lobby. You can check our guide on how you can do that on both the console as well as PC. This will help you avoid griefers.

Cycle 1

Exporting Top Range Car

To kick off this strategy, as mentioned earlier, you need to have at least three top range cars in your vehicle warehouse. Head over to your vehicle warehouse and choose any one of the top range vehicles to export. A very common mistake some players do is that they accidentally choose either a mid-range or standard-range car. Make sure you do not make this mistake.

Once you've selected the car to export, choose "Specialist Dealer" option in order to get maximum commission (profit) of $100,000. Do not spend a lot of time customizing your vehicle. Just choose something different in each category and confirm.

Proceed to drive towards the destination. When you are driving towards your drop off location, some enemy NPCs will spawn and start shooting at you.

Whenever you are driving away from your vehicle warehouse, while inside a vehicle that you are delivering, enemies will always instantly spawn at a particular distance. After doing one or two exports, you will know this location. You need to utilize this knowledge to your advantage. Whenever you are near this location, quickly get out of your car and run away from it as soon as the NPCs spawn.

We need to ensure that the car gets either no damage or minimum damage. Get away from the car and take out these NPCs. They are your typical "aimbot" NPCs and will annihilate you. So be sure to stock up on armor and snacks before exporting the vehicle. You can die during this, it won't fail the mission but just stay away from the car as much as you can.

These NPCs spawn in a wave of either two or four. After taking out two waves, wait a bit and see if they spawn for the third time. If they do, that means be prepared for the fourth wave as well. We've always experienced four waves while exporting, just a heads up!

Once you've successfully taken out the NPCs, hop into your car and carefully deliver it to the buyer, while avoiding any damage on your way. For this first export we managed to profit $99,628 (out of $100,000 commission). Those $372 were lost thanks to the enemy NPCs shooting at the car. Try to never go below $98,000. A little bit of damage for a mere $372 is not a big issue.

Client Job - Robbery In Progress

After you have successfully delivered the vehicle, request your personal vehicle, which should be an Oppressor Mark II, and head to the Terrorbyte parked in the middle of the city. Head to the back of the Terrorbyte with your Oppressor Mark II and it should park inside the truck. Go to the touchscreen computer and start up a Client Job called "A Robbery In Progress".

Once you've started the job, you need to access the computer again to access the security cam feed and find out the location of the robbery. Scroll through the feed and you will know you landed on the correct one thanks to the sounds of gunshots when you're in the correct feed.

You can pan around your camera to see the robbery going on from outside, and then get a prompt to check the camera feed inside the vault. After checking the inside, you can now head over to the location and get the gold off of the robbers.

When you get to the robbery site, take out the cops and then quickly go to your interaction menu. From there choose the "Bribe Authorities" option from CEO Abilities section. Remember to do this after you've taken out the cops.

Another problem here is one of the robbers who is using a mini-gun. He will instantly destroy you. In order to take him out safely, get your RPG out and shoot at the entrance of the bank because that is where he is usually standing. Take a couple of shots and he should drop dead.

After taking him out, the rest two are easy (there are a total of three robbers usually). Finish them and get the gold from the robber. Drop it off to the drop off location and you're done. This mission can help you make around $31,500.

VIP Work - Sightseer

As soon as you've dropped the gold off, go to your interaction menu and start Sightseer VIP work. In this mission you need to find three packages spread across Los Santos. A tip, if you are starting either Sightseer or Headhunter, is to come to the middle of the city (around the area where you have parked your Terrorbyte earlier) and then start these missions.

Doing this will ensure that the targets or packages are not spread too far away from each other. They will be within the city and around. But not that far away. This will help you save more time. In this mission you need to carry out a hack each time, in order to locate the location of the package. So a total of three hacks. You can access the hacking app from your phone.

The hacks are pretty easy and you can complete them super quick. Once you've hacked, the location of the package is revealed. You can go ahead and get that package after which you can hack again for the next package location and so on.

There are three types of hacks and only these three come every time but not in an exact order. In the first type of hack, you need to simply make up a word. You need to select the red highlighted words. Select them as they pass through the middle row.

The second type includes vertical bars with gaps in the middle. You need to select them as soon as the gap aligns with a horizontal line you see.

The final hack type is choosing a combination of numbers from a variety of numbers. A set of numbers will be shown on the screen and you need to find the exact same combo within a variety of other combinations.

After the collection of all three packages, we managed to make $21,500.

Client Job - Targeted Data

This mission is one of the reasons why we parked the Terrorbyte right in the middle of the city. After completing Sightseer VIP work, had back to your Terrorbyte and start "Targeted Data" Client Job. You do not need to leave the Terrorbyte.

Simply head over to the cabin and drive it to Life Invader's office. Park it outside and then leave the truck. Enter through the side of the truck and access the drone controls.

Head inside the building through the entrance and hack the two laptops located on the top floor. Be careful not to hit your drone on the walls or the ceiling as it will destroy it instantly. This time you will only get a number combination hack. Hack both the laptops and the target location should be revealed.

Get into your Oppressor Mark II, which is parked inside of the Terrorbyte, and head over to the target. Take out the target to successfully complete this Client Job. You can make around $31,500.

VIP Work - Headhunter

After Targeted Data, open up your interaction menu and start the next VIP work which is Headhunter. Here's a tip: if you leave your Oppressor Mark II and then drive quite far away, then you can request it again as your personal vehicle, which will replenish the missile ammo on it.

It is suggested you always do this if you are low on ammo, especially before you start Headhunter since some of the targets take multiple hits due to their armored vehicles. You only have a limited missile ammo in your Oppressor Mark II - 20 max.

In Headhunter, you need to take out a couple of targets, usually 4-5. You can easily do this using your Oppressor Mark II, as they are spread across the city. If you start Headhunter while in the middle of the city then the targets won't be spread too far away. This will help you save a lot of time. We made $21,500 upon successful completion of this VIP work.

Now, that we've completed our last VIP work. We are ready to head back to our warehouse and start the second cycle of this strategy beginning with another top range car export. Remember, in each cycle you have one car export, 2 Client Jobs and 2 VIP missions. The VIP missions and Client Jobs will alternate between each other.

Cycle 2

Exporting Second Top Range Car

You need to repeat the same process, head back to your vehicle warehouse and export another top range car. Before you leave, just remember to stock up on armor and snacks if you are low.

Also remember to stop at that "particular" location where the enemy NPCs spawn for you and immediately leave your car. Move away from the car and take them out. Proceed to carefully drive the car to the drop off point. If you're careful, then you can make even $100,000.

Unfortunately, these NPCs always get a single hit on you. For the same reason, it resulted in a profit of $99,876 this time for us, which is not bad at all actually. Always aim for a commission of higher than $98,000 and you should be good to go.

Client Job - Diamond Shopping

Next up you need to start a Client Job called "Diamond Shopping" from your Terrorbyte. It will still be parked next to the Life Invader Offices if you're following this exact same strategy. This means that the Terrorbyte is still in the city, which is what we need.

Head to the Terrorbyte and access your touchscreen computer to start Diamond Shopping Client Job. This job is really easy and quick. You just need to head to a specified location and get the Diamonds off of a guard, then deliver them to the drop off point.

Here's a tip to complete this mission much faster. Normally, you would have to get into the driver's seat of the Terrorbyte for the location to be revealed. But you won't have to get into the driver's seat and can instead simply get into your Oppressor Mark II and fly to the location shown in the map below. This is the exact location where you carry out your first heist in the story mode.

Take out the cops and get the briefcase. Get on the Oppressor Mark II and lose the cops. You can quickly lose the cops by calling Lester and then proceed to deliver the Diamonds at the drop off point. Successfully complete this Client Job and you'll earn around $30,500.

VIP Work - Sightseer

After the completion of Diamond Shopping, your cool down for VIP work would have ended by now. Once again start Sightseer from your interaction menu and collect all three packages successfully to earn around $22,500.

Client Job - Robbery In Progress

After Sightseer, head back to your Terrorbyte to once again start the "Robbery In progress" Client Job. It is the same procedure as before. The only difference in these missions is the location. Remember, take out the cops, bribe the authorities using CEO abilities from interaction menu and then take out the robbers for the gold. Deliver the gold to the drop off point for around $30,500.

VIP Work - Headhunter

Once again, you need to do Headhunter VIP mission. Make sure you keep an eye out for your Oppressor Mark II missile ammo before you start Headhunter. Eliminating all the targets should earn you about $21,000.

That ends our second cycle. Moving on to the third cycle, we do not have to do all the missions again. Of course, if you wan to earn more than just half a million then by all means continue the same strategy for as long as you wish. That just means you need to have more top range cars in your vehicle warehouse. So make sure you source them ahead of time.

Cycle 3

Export Third Top Range Car

The third cycle only consists of one mission and that is to export one more top range car from your vehicle warehouse.

After you export your final vehicle, you should have around, or just over, GTA$500,000. If you manage to deliver the vehicle, like in our case, you should earn $100,000 on your final vehicle delivery or in any export mission. Check out our general tips below on how to improve your chances of getting full commission on export runs.

Mission List And Earnings

Note that these values won't exactly be the same for you, but very close. As you can see in the first cycle, when we carried out the Sightseer VIP mission, we earned $21,500 and in the second cycle doing the same VIP mission we earned $22,500. The same goes for other Client Jobs and VIP missions. The variation is not a lot and the amount earned is always close to each other.

General Tips

Cargobob

If have, or can afford to buy, a Cargobob (which is available from Warstock Cache & Carry) it will make your export missions very easy. The Cargobob comes in two variants - Marines ($1,790,000) and Jetsam ($1,995,000).

There is no added advantage for one variant over another, so it's better to go with a cheaper version (Marine variant) just to get the job done. The aim is here is to make money not lose it. This is one of the reasons why the Cargobob is not included in the main strategy but as a general tip. If you can afford it, then you should go for it. Otherwise, you shouldn't have any issue completing our strategy as above without it.

If you have a Cargobob, you can hook on to your target car and fly it directly to the drop off point. As mentioned, just after covering a little bit of distance, enemy NPCs spawn. You can avoid these NPCs by flying up to an altitude of around 1,500 ft. When you hook on to your vehicle, simply stay in that same position and fly up until you have reached that altitude, then fly towards the drop off point.

Whenever you are hooking on to a car, aim for the highest part of the car such as a spoiler or the hood. Another trick here is that when you are modifying your vehicle before exporting, you can add a very high spoiler which will allow you to hook easily on to the car.

No Enemy NPCs While Driving

If you have at least one or two other players in the lobby with you, then the chances of these NPCs spawning reduces considerably. If you want to carry out the export runs by driving the car to the buyer without NPCs spawning, then you can ask one of your friends to join you in your lobby.

You might have also noticed, in our video guide, that when exporting the last top range car none of these NPCs spawned since there was one player in the lobby. This resulted in us getting full commission of $100,000!
