Goat Simulator 3 ad with leaked GTA 6 footage gets taken down

Goat Simulator Ad Leaked Gta Footage Taken Down
Goat Simulator 3 is the latest installment in the sandbox adventure franchise.

They say that when you play stupid games, you win stupid prizes. For some reason, nobody told Coffee Stain North that. Because, if they'd learned this common adage growing up, they wouldn't have tried to use leaked GTA 6 footage from earlier this year in an advert for Goat Simulator 3.

The now-unavailable trailer features an NPC named Shaun talking about Goat Simulator 3 as he referenced his previous experiences, (i.e, the games he previously worked on). At that point, the trailer cuts to footage from the massive leak with Shaun edited in to make it, well, look different. Of course, the internet was always going to notice and it didn't take very long for Take-Two Interactive to act.

On one hand, kudos to Coffee Stain North for their bravery. But, there's a thin line between being brave and foolishness. Unfortunately, the studio leaned more toward the latter.

Take-Two is well within its rights, especially since Coffee Stain North used footage that isn't supposed to be out there. It'll be interesting to see if the long-time Goat Simulator devs will face a worse punishment than just a DMCA takedown.

Goat Simulator 3 is the first in the series to be exclusive to current-gen consoles.

The GTA 6 leak is easily the biggest of its kind. Rockstar Games has since confirmed that it's legitimate but Take-Two assures fans that development on GTA 6 is going well. Neither has responded to Microsoft's expectations that GTA 6 will be out by 2024.
