Below are all the hints and tips you need to make tonnes of cash on the stock market in Grand Theft Auto 5.
Lester Assassination Missions
The "Lester Assassination Missions" method of investing in GTA 5's stock market is probably the most fool-proof method to make money in in the game, and lots of it too. Basically, it boils down buying and sell specific stocks before and after you complete the assassination missions for Lester (which are a big part of the single player story line). We have a page dedicated to Lester's Assassination Missions here.
High Frequency Stock Trading
This only works for LCN stocks and do make it worthwhile you need A LOT of money. For this reason it is good to do after you've finished all of Lester's assassination missions, for example. You should also know that the prices of the LCN stocks will refresh every 45 seconds while you're doing this.
- Look for the stock that has the lowest price (meaning you can buy more of it).
- Buy it (the maximum amount) and then immediately save your game. Don't muck around when doing this (you will have 45 seconds or less).
- Once saved then check the stock by pretending to purchase more. Provided you stay on the "purchase more stock page" the price will constantly refresh for you.
- If the stock price goes up, then save your game and repeat the steps above. If the stock price goes down then reload your initial save game and try again.
This can be a little annoying (having to wait through a lot of saving screens) but it can also be worthwhile provided you are investing a lot of money to begin with. The incremental changes won't be massive (maybe a few cents per price change) but they add up if you have loads of money riding on it...
Insurance Company Stock Tip
Head out on a mission of destruction and then immediately put some money into AugeryInsurance stock (AUG). When you destroyed lots of cars by damaging them, it should have caused the stock price to go down. Then after a while (and given you've stopped destroying things) the stock should shoot right back up!
LCN Stock Trading
When you're playing GTA V there will always be one particular stock on the LCN market that fluctuates within a set range (well pretty much a set range).
If you can find that stock and know it's range, then it's just a matter of continuously trading it to make money! When it goes down into the bottom of the trading range, buy it. Then when it goes up to the top, sell it!
Note that the stock in question for your game will not be one affected by the Assassination Missions (ie Debonaire Cigarettes, Redwood or GoldCoast).
List of Competing Companies
This table is useful because what is good for one company (i.e. its stock price will increase) will often be bad for its competitor (its stock price will decrease). So, if certain events happen in the game that might be good or bad for specific companies, you have a better idea of what stocks you should buy.

If you listen often to talk back radio stations then you're more likely to hear about stock tips. If you do happen to hear something, load up on the stock being discussed to profit!
Stock Market - Buy Cheap and Sell High
Here's a way to score some cheap stock and then also increase its value.
This tactic hinges on the company rivalry/competitor system, and is centered around the Los Santos International Airport. If you check out our chart above, you'll note that AirEMU and FlyUS are rival airline companies, and this can be used to earn big time. Before starting this, make sure to save your game so you have a restore point with all your money in case something goes wrong.
To start out, you need to purchase all the AirEMU stock that you can. After that, start destroying FlyUS planes at the airport. There should be plenty, and the large liveries on the sides of the planes will let you know what airline they belong to. By destroying the planes, you can steadily decrease FlyUS' market value, thus increasing AirEMU.
By piloting FlyUS planes and crashing them, you can decrease their value by a greater magnitude, but this is pretty time-consuming. After you have destroyed a bunch of planes, commit suicide or go to sleep at one of your properties, but do not save the game. Check the stock market a few times, and keep killing yourself/sleeping until the profit percentage increases. I can go as high as 10%, but if it stops increasing after a while just get your winnings and sell as high as you can.
Tinkle Stock Tip
Ideally this is best done later in the game when you have serious cash to invest...
- First get all your characters to invest in Tinkle (TNK) on the BAWSAQ.
- Then head to Hitch Lift 1 using Michael as your character and you'll see a guy to pick up.
- You need to take him to the Airport and along the way he'll tell you about a particular stock that is going to increase in value.
- $Profit$
Trading Days and Advancing Time
Each trading day on the stock market begins at 8am (except weekends), so if you are advancing time, then make sure you check it at 8am each day. Advancing time via sleeping will put your forward 8 hours.
And if you want to advance time more quickly/efficiently, you don't have to actually save. Instead just go head into the save screen when at a bed and then exit. This is enough to advance time.

Indeed. I just wish they sorted it out for online. I would have loved something players could impact in servers. I am hoping it is a feature we see in GTA 6.
I didn't know about some of these tips, going to have to try them out. Stocks have to be the easiest way to make money in game at this point, assuming you do it correctly.
BAWSAQ Stock market does not work no matter what you do. Don't waste your time with it.

The most amount of money you can have in story mode is $2,147,483,647. If you go $1 over the limit, it will go to -$2,147,483,646. If you want some ways to make millions, I would suggest doing the assassination missions. Although BAWSAQ may not work, you can always wait for a assassination mission for the LCN Stock Market.

on the debonaire/redwood stocks, make sure to invest before the mission with all characters, then go home with franklin, sleep a few times, keep checking the stock, then sell when it hits high, usually 2 or 3 "sleeps" then buy redwood, it should be around 4.11 when u buy it after selling debonaire, then wait a few days with franklin, i think it's around 8 or so "sleeps" you don't need to save every time u rest, and redwood should get to 301.55, sell it then.
how someone know, about their next mission. we have to buy before Mission. and we do not know which mission i am going to get.
I figured out one. First buy a rhino tank. Spend all your money on slaughter slaughter slaughter, then to make things easier stay at the airport with your rhino, cause lot of trouble and keep killing the police as long as you can. After doing this for about 10 minutes the shares would have gone up, it doesn't goes higher tha 5% I guess. But for millions of dollars that's a lot, sell it and see the money flow into the bank. I did it with 12m and made an extra one million at different times, the more money you invest the mush higher the profit goes.
My biggest money income is eCola. Do not touch any kind of cola truck so the price for eCola will drop. (mine was at $15 a share) Invest money for eCola when its low, blow up every cola truck you see except the smaller one that really says eCola. Stock rises to 30 - 40$ a share and u have doubled or even trippled your money. In my case i had nearly trippled 9mil up to 25-26mil!

After I sold Debonaire after the 2nd assassination, I got $, then had all 3 characters buy redwood, then slept. not only did i not see an increase, but it went down 67% so all my characters are negative and i deleted my last save before that. so i cant go back to the previous save. the 300% redwood thing is a joke unless i did it wrong... can anyone help?
u definitely did it wrong. i went from $500,000 to over 2 million with just Franklin alone. The trick is u have to let 3 days pass by on the game before the stock goes up 300%.
3 days? so would that be a wednesday or a thursday, if you ended it on a friday that is.

On PC so far with the Hotel Assassination. I used this guide and I tested this over and over for a few hours on just this mission, these were my max returns anyone have different? I got from 2mil to 7mil like this and I will make a report on my later heists and stuff.
'BET' = Max profit I could get was 50%. Average was 50%, I couldn't get much different.
'BIL' = Max profit was a huge 130% return. Average was around 120%.
I bought 'BET' at $460 before mission and sold it at $690 after mission. Before mission it said there was a low of $459, but it wouldn't budge from $460. After the mission 'BET' it will start at $677, just go to sleep once or twice and it hops up to $690, then sell.
Then I bought 'BIL' at $103 after selling 'BET', but seen it get to $101 and sold it at luckily $239 after sleeping a bunch. The average was from $226-$229.

Yesterday I was able to make a money on GoPostal stocks. I found PostOp HQ and there was GoPostal van parking next to it. I detonated it few times. After each detonation I was trying to loose cops so when I got back, the van was there again. Stocks of GoPostal went down to minimal value. Then I bought stocks for about 2 000 000 and went home sleep. I made on it about 3-5%. I did have time to test it more, but I will. But I think it is worth to demolish companny first to get lowest price on stocks and then buy them and you need a lot of money to profit on it. This was the fastest way to earn money on stock market without tips from Lester or other persons so far for me.

I've been blowing up taco trucks left and right and Clicking Bell doesn't go up at all despite the fact it's near the bottom of the range.
It seems that the only way to move the stock market is missions which seems weak to me....
How do I get the BAWSAQ market to open?
I,ve used BAWSAQ to this effect. Look at the markets page then click at the head of the column in value. It will immediately give you the lowest valued stock. Invest everyhting in it then save. Play the game for a bit then check the value every now and again. If the stock value falls reload the game before you saved it then re-invest the lot again then save. Keep doing this until the value of whichever company you are investing in starts to rise. I've found that once they reach rock bottom they fluctuate a bit so don't lose heart. Every time they fall, go back to the save game before you invested and reinvest. I did this with WIZ and eventually invested evrything at $0.10 dollars. I sold at 3.69 and made an absolute fortune. Much more than the Lester missons!

This helped me it may help you but your on the right track about saveing the game save the game before you invest your money in case you mess up alrite then once you do that go buy the stock that has tanked out the most and invest every penny once you do this save the game in a new slot once you do this just sleep one time then load the game were you invested all your money in the stock.

Redwood does rebound but for some reason it didn't show the 300% increase. It only showed like about 30% increase. So after i followed what the hints say i just sold it and wow!!! Just follow the advice.
Worked for me, but it took over 7 days of saves. just keep a master save, and keep checking till it rises.

Life Invader is actually a great stock after the mission where you have to kill the CEO.
By mid game, Life Invader is capable of dropping to $1-4 per share and is capable of hitting around $20 per share. This is the largest bottom/top flow in the game.
I have purchased LI shares at $1 per share and sold at $20 per. That's a 2000% return on investment.
Great way to make lots of money mid game.

No it's not I ended up putting in about 48m each player on redwood. Waited about 3-4 days and sold them for 110m or more not exactly sure. Now I'm going into the construction assassination with almost 600m

start of game - price per share fluctuates between 3 and 6 dollars
Later - price per share fluctuates between 125 and 140 dollars.
At
the beginning of the game go through the story missions with Franklin
and Michael, but DO NOT do the mission to blow the face off the life
invader dude, Jay Norris (first Lester mission for Michael). Before
starting this mission, you need to rack up some cash so you can buy
eCola shares. So go make money what ever way you can, although there are
not a lot of options at this point in the game.
With Franklin, do
as many races as you can/like. With Michael, rob the armored trucks,
preferably the one which appears at the closed down Burger Shot around
Little Seoul and the one which appears in the north at Paleto Bay near
the parking lot of the Ammu-nation. I've noticed these two locations are
likely to pay the most because the guards are out of the truck with a
suitcase, you just have to get it. (Note: The armored trucks are not as
frequently accessible as the races and you may need to find ways to
spend your time as you drive around checking for the guys with the
suitcase from time to time)
It takes a while to gain a lot of
money this way, but you just need to buy enough eCola shares to turn it
into a lot more. At the low price between $3 and $6 per share, 25,000
shares (chose this number at random, buy as few or as many shares as you
desire) will cost around $75,000 to $150,000. Once you acquire the
number of share you want, forget about all this time you feel has been
wasted to purchase these dirt cheap shares of eCola and continue the
story missions with both characters.
Trevor starts with $100,000
so just purchase eCola shares when you first switch to his part of the
story just after the jewelry store heist. The value of eCola is
fluctuating between $4 to $6 per share at this point. Continue on with
the story missions and wait for the price of eCola shares to rise above
$125.
25,000 shares of eCola should pay out close to 3,000,000 or
more. so it is up to you how much time you want to spend making money to
purchase shares. Then you have a decent amount to work with until you
make more off the stock market or from your cut at the end of the game.
Enjoy or not, whatever.

I just did the first assassination mission with Lester and Frankin on PS4 and followed exactly how this guide said and I made 35% profit from BetaPharma and 100% profit from Bilkington! It's not exaclty accurate but a profit is a damn profit!

I lost millions after the mission where I was supposed to buy Fruit stocks. I waited about a day and a half to check the value after I finished and it had dropped over 50%. I lost over 7 million total with all 3 guys. Did I do something wrong? Should I not have waited so long to check the price?
i'm pretty sure you're supposed to buy before The Vice Assassination mission and then sell immediately after.

The secret to doing this is. turn off the auto save of GTA V. Try the mission 3 times and do it like the Guy below says.
You could have waited longer.... they go up and down frequently. If you miss the 1st time frame in which they go up.. wait for them to go down on max again , they will go back up eventually.
